Okay, so let's get right down to it. Most people today who are looking for teeth whitening solutions are typically looking at 4 - 5 different options in front of them. They are these:
- Dentist Administered (Take Home or In Office)
- Laser Teeth Whitening (Hot Dog!)
- Over-the-Counter (The Gels and...stuff)
- Natural (Home-Made) Teeth Whitening
We'll be discussing these four in detail throughout the existence of this blog, so please be aware that this post is not going to cover every single detail of each one. This is a brief analysis of each of these, and then, with later blog entries, there will be more detailed explanations. I just didn't want to start of with a "Hi, My name is Bryan..." blog post, and I wanted to get down to the nitty-gritty. Oh yeah, I mean business. ;D
Dentist Administered Teeth Whitening:
This is the kind of procedure that is scheduled in advanced, saved up for in advanced, but is more than likely worth every minute worrying about it, and cent paid for it. Dentists are usually more thorough and knowledgeable about the procedures than the layman (unless, of course, you're an undercover dentist posing as a civilian, in which case you'd know as much as a dentist). They're typically longer-lasting than the over-the-counter or natural teeth whitening options, but they're going to be more expensive and time consuming.
Laser Teeth Whitening:
Now we're getting into something more science-fiction-but-not-so-fiction. Laser teeth whitening is an extremely powerful treatment that can have dramatic results in a manner of procedures. I won't go into great detail about how the treatment is done, but it is a dentist (or professional, I should say) who treats your teeth with a cool (not cold, but awesome) gel that helps your teeth react to either a little heat, or a laser, that practically removes the stain completely from your teeth. Fiarly expensive, but 100% spectacular.
Over-the-Counter Teeth Whitening Options:
I'm not going to go into the "best" or the "least expensive" but almost all of these products react the same, way. They're made up of powerful bleaching agents that will remove the stains from your teeth over the course of a given time-frame (sometimes a month, sometimes a week; it all depends). They're not nearly as expensive as the dentist appointments or the awesome laser treatments, but they're not going to be as effective, or as long-lasting. Keep that in mind.
Natural (or Home-Made) Teeth Whitening Options:
Again, this is going to be something we'll be talking about in more detail later on. Most home-made or natural teeth whitening treatments are going to be the least expensive, but they're also going to be the shortest-lived. Bear in mind, as well, any allergens that you might have in the content of the natural whiteners.
Okay. Have you got the basics? I hope you do, because that's as basic as it gets! Please take a look at the RSS feed that is available to you to subscribe to.
